Sifu Mohammed Akhtar
began his martial arts training in 1988, studying Tai Chi Chuan. Then, in 1989
he visited the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen headquarters and began studying Wing
Chun. Since then Sifu Akhtar has regularly attended classes and private
lessons. In addition he has attended many seminars over the years given by his
teacher, Sifu Rawcliffe and by his SiGung, Ip Chun. In 2000 he qualified as an
instructor, assisting Sifu Rawcliffe with his classes and only decided to teach
his own students/class when he relocated to the Bedfordshire area in
2003. |

Sifu Akhtar is highly
dedicated to his Wing Chun training and as part of his desire to continue his
development he accompanied his teacher to Hong Kong in August 2004 for three
weeks to train with his SiGung and his sifu's Kung Fu brothers. Training took
place daily at the Ving Tsun Athletic Association and on Sunday evenings in
Shatin.
During that Hong
Trip a special seminar was given by SiGung Ip Chun at the City University of
Hong Kong to celebrate his 80th birthday, which was attended by over 100
students. At the end of the seminar Sifu Akhtar was honoured with a
commemorative pendant for his school.
Sifu Akhtar : Is a
Certified Instructor & Representative of "Midlands Wing Chun Kuen (MWCK)" A
Permanent member of the "Ving Tsun Athletic Association (VTAA)". Is a
Registered and recognized Instructor with the VTAA. He is a Level 2 Coach,
certificated with the "British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA)". Holds
a First Aid Certificate, recognized by the "Health and Safety Executive"
